RENTAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Minimum Age Requirements

To rent a vehicle in the UAE, the legal minimum age is determined by the class of the car:

• Economy & Compact Cars: Minimum age of 21 years.
• Premium SUVs & Business Sedans: Minimum age of 21 or 23 years (depending on model).
• Supercars & High-End Exotic Models: Minimum age of 25 years.

2. Required Documentation

* Note: Tourists holding national driving licenses from EU countries, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, GCC countries, Australia, and select other nations can drive in the UAE directly without an IDP. Others must present an International Driving Permit.

3. Refundable Security Deposit

A security deposit is required for every rental to cover potential traffic fines, toll gate passes, or minor damages.

• Economy Cars: 1,000 AED – 1,500 AED.
• Luxury SUVs & Sports Cars: 2,000 AED – 5,000 AED.

The security deposit is frozen on a credit card (pre-authorization) or paid in cash/crypto. It is **refunded after 21 to 30 days** from the vehicle return date. This delay is mandatory to allow the UAE traffic police database to update any fines (such as speed cameras or parking infractions).

4. Salik (Tolls) and Traffic Fines

• Salik Gates: Each pass through a Salik toll gate in Dubai is charged at 5 AED (which includes the RTA toll fee and a small administration fee). Fares are collected at the end of the rental period from your deposit.
• Traffic Violations: Fines incurred during the rental period (speeding, red lights, illegal parking, lane changes) are the sole responsibility of the renter. Fines are billed along with a 10% processing fee.

5. Mileage Allowances

Standard daily rentals include a mileage limit:

• Daily limit: Usually 250 km / day for luxury/sports cars, and 300 km / day for economy models.
• Excess Mileage: Additional kilometers are charged at 1 AED to 10 AED per km (depending on the vehicle class).
• Monthly Leases: Standard packages include 3,000 km to 5,000 km per month.
